Maryland beats Minnesota 66-45 in Big 10/ACC duel
COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Kim Rodgers scored 14 points, and Maryland won its 43rd consecutive home game Thursday night, defeating cold-shooting Minnesota 66-45 in the Big Ten/ACC Women’s Basketball Challenge.
Diandra Tchatchouang scored 13 for the Terrapins (7-1), who never trailed after using an 11-0 run to go up 26-16. Maryland is 7-0 at home this season and unbeaten at Comcast Center since falling to Duke on Feb. 18, 2007.
Jackie Voight led Minnesota (5-3) with 10 points. The Golden Gophers were 16-for-59 (27 percent) from the field with 12 turnovers.
Minnesota senior Brittany McCoy had two assists in the first half to become the fourth female player in school history to reach 400 for her career. She now has 402.
