Glendale, Ariz.- Minnesota Vikings’ linebacker EJ Henderson suffered a broken leg during the Sunday night match against the Arizona Cardinals, in which the Cardinals registered a stunning victory against the Vikings. The injury sustained by the Vikings player came as a major blow to his team as it is likely that the middle linebacker would have to remain away from the rest of the matches of the season.
EJ Henderson broke his leg during the fourth quarter of the game when he accidentally clashed with teammate Jamarca Sanford, while he was trying to counter Cardinals running back Tim Hightower. As a result of the collision, EJ Henderson’s leg got bent in an awkward angle and it was evident that he had received a brutal injury due to which he collapsed on the ground, writhing in pain. The player was soon surrounded by his teammates and doctors who assessed his condition and later he was taken off the field in a motorized cart. His brother, Erin Henderson, who is also a player of the team but was inactive in the match, held his brother’s hand as he was being carted off the ground to the nearby hospital.
Vikings coach, Brad Childress later added that EJ Henderson had suffered a broken leg and would require surgery to recover from the fracture. The match which was held at the University of Phoenix Stadium, witnessed the Vikings being defeated by the Cardinals by a score of 30-17. EJ Henderson’s broken leg is being viewed as a huge debacle for his team as he is one of the veteran player’s of the Minnesota Vikings.
