Lamy Chappuis wins Nordic combined WCup event
RAMSAU, Austria — Jason Lamy Chappuis of France won a Nordic combined World Cup event Friday for his third victory of the season and eighth overall.
Lamy Chappuis finished in 22 minutes, 3.6 seconds to edge Gottwald by 2.7 seconds. It was the Austrian’s first podium finish since returning from retirement this season.
Two-time world champion Todd Lodwick of the United States led the race until the 7.5K-mark but finished sixth, trailing Lamy Chappuis by 8.5 seconds.
Lamy Chappuis was second after the ski-jumping portion and overtook Felix Gottwald in the final kilometer of the 10-kilometer cross-country race.
Magnus Moan of Norway, who was 43rd after the ski jump, was 7.1 seconds back in third.
