Lamy Chappuis wins Nordic combined World Cup event
RAMSAU, Austria — Jason Lamy Chappuis of France won his second straight Nordic combined World Cup event on Saturday, and Johnny Spillane finished fourth to lead three Americans into the top 10.
Lamy Chappuis overtook Felix Gottwald of Austria in the final kilometer of the 10K cross-country race, matching his victory from the day before.
The Frenchman was third after the ski-jumping discipline and finished in 25 minutes, 45.6 seconds for his fourth win of the season and ninth overall.
Tino Edelmann of Germany was 2.1 seconds back in second, while Alessandro Pittin of Italy took third, 3.7 behind.
Spillane was 4.2 seconds off the pace. World champion Todd Lodwick placed sixth for the U.S. and Bill Demong was ninth.
