Ferguson vows major payback to ‘mince pie’ flinger

LONDON - Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed to find out who had thrown a mince pie on his face during last week’s light-hearted annual Christmas panto, performed by members of the under-18 squad.
Ferguson, along with his coaches, had dished up turkey to the Man U squad, but he also became a victim of the fling when he sat down to have his dinner.
“People didn’t know whether to laugh or keep quiet. A few of the players say they know who did it, but nobody is telling,” The Sun quoted a Man U insider, as saying.
“Apparently, it was an accident, and although the gaffer saw the funny side he has vowed to give major payback when he finds out who it was,” he added.
This not the first incident of Ferguson having to face an embarrassing situation, a few years ago he was struck by some chucked pizza during a tunnel bust-up between United and Arsenal players.
“The gaffer doesn’t have much luck when it comes to things flying across a room - there was also the time he accidentally caught David Beckham in the eye with a flying boot,” the insider added. (ANI)
