Langer’s choice for Oz captain is Cameron White

PERTH - Former Australian opener Justin Langer believes that Victoria’s all-rounder skipper Cameron White should be the captain of Australia in the future.
White, a natural leader who took Australia to an Under-19 World Cup victory before becoming the youngest-ever skipper of Victoria at the age of 20, was the sensation of the one-dayers against Pakistan, and is placing pressure on Marcus North for the No.6 position in the Test team.
He has played a leading role in guiding Victoria to five consecutive Twenty20 Big Bash finals, four of which they have won.
“There’s no reason why he can’t make the Test team, the way he’s going. He’s been a captain all the way through his career, ever since the juniors, and I can see him leading Australia at some stage,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Langer, as saying.
“I was captain of Cameron White at Somerset, and I’m over the moon that he’s taking his game up another level because I know what a good player, good bloke and good leader he is. He can hit the ball as well as anyone, and if he gets his bowling right, he can be the best player in the world. That’s how highly I rate him,” Langer added. (ANI)
