VANCOUVER (GaeaTimes.com) The Opening of the Olympics Winter Games 2010 lived up to the expectation of the 50,000 audience and the representatives from different countries with its’ spectacular performance at the BC Place stadium downtown Vancouver. To the magnificent show was added a golden feather of glory by the deep voice of Donald Sutherland who narrated the tale of Canadian history and its culture.
The ceremony took place in a covered stadium, which happened for the first time in the history of Olympic games. The ceremony highlighted the varied culture from all over the world. Donald Sutherland took the stage from the back ground and as he started narrating the tale the glorious history of Canada was taken over by songs and dance performances. First, a tap dancer performed on the stage featuring a red maple leave which was then followed by a group of dancers who performed to the famous song “Devil in the Kitchen”. The stage then became a platform for prairie Canada as the voice of Donald Sutherland reverberated saying ” I would walk to the end of the street on the prairie….” as the dancers danced to a local famous song.
The stage then became a land of snow storm and blisters. The snow storm were created by the fabulous electrical works which then transformed to blizzards. The mountains and the rocks all were formed on the stage in front of the audiences’ eyes. The performance then took a new height towards completion as Donald Sutherland proclaimed that a lifetime is not enough to know the rich and glorious history of Canada.
