India beat South Africa by one run in first ODI

JAIPUR - In a dramatic finish India defeated South Africa by one run in a cliff-hanger in the first One-day international here Sunday.

India after being asked to bat scored 298 for nine. South Africa were all out for 297 runs on the last ball of the match from Praveen Kumar.

Jacques Kallis made 89 before Wayne Parnell (49) and Dale Steyn (35) brought the match alive with a 65-run stand.

S.Sreesanth (2-74) and Ravindra Jadeja (2-29) were the wicket-takers.
