OREGON (GaeaTimes.com)- The Oregon Ducks’ team’s authority on Friday seemed in a mood to get the players back on the track by taking disciplinary actions against players who were found guilty of stealing and harassment charges. On Mar 12, the quarterback player for the Oregon Ducks’ Jeremiah Masoli was announced suspended for a year by the team coach Chip Kelly. On Friday after Jeremiah Masoli made his court appearance and pleaded guilty of the charges levied against him, the decision was taken to suspend the player who had put in some brilliant performances leading the team.
Jeremiah Masoli, along with another of his teammate Garrett Embry stole two laptops and a guitar from the house in the team’s campus last January. On Friday the team took the decision to suspend him. However, Jeremiah Masoli will be returning to the team after his suspension is lifted. This year the player has been allowed to take the privilege of the red jersey which means that he will get to practice with the team. He would also receive the scholarship according to Chip Kelly. The Club’s decision on Garrett Embry has not yet been disclosed.
On Friday, the coach, apart from the suspension of Jeremiah Masoli, also announced that running back player LaMichael James and Kicker Rob Beard are suspended for one game each due to the harassment charges brought against them, to which they pleaded guilty. According to reports, LaMichael James was charged of harassment by his ex-girlfriend after a quarrel that broke out between them. Rob Beard was charged with misdemeanor and harassment charges reportedly, for being involved in a street fight.
