ARIZONA (GaeaTimes.com)- Ron Washington, the manager of the Texas Rangers team for the last three years, on Wednesday put in front of the players of the team a heart felt apology for the use of cocaine last year. His confession comes all of a sudden after a website claimed that Ron Washington had proved positive in a drug test last year.

Ron Washington confessed that he had used cocaine during the first half of 2009. He said that he is ashamed for committing such a mistake. He reportedly called his past deed as dangerous and stupid. Ron Washington then said that by testing positive in the drug test, he had disgraced his family and friends along with harming himself. He asserted that though this confession is disgraceful, he would keep steady and confront it. Ron Washington mentioned that he would take every test that he is asked to.

Ron Washington was chosen randomly by the Major League Baseball’s drug Assistance program for a drug test last year. After going through the test, Ron Washington had confessed of his misdeed to the Texas Rangers club without waiting for the test results to come out. He had reportedly signed a resignation letter which the Texas Rangers club members refused to accept. Ron Washington has reportedly gone through a drug rehabilitation program which had ended recently. On Wednesday, the club mentioned in its website that Ron Washington will remain the manager of the Texas Rangers club as before. After his confession, the manager asked the players to speak their mind out. According to the team’s infielder Michael Young, the manager should still remain with the team.
