Siena College Defeated By Purdue

WASHINGTON, (GaeaTimes.com)- Purdue basketball team got the taste of their first success when they defeated the thirteenth ranked Siena College on Friday. Purdue defeated the Siena College team by a margin of 72-64. However, as the score shows, the Siena College team worked hard on the field to win the game.

The Siena College had a good start at the beginning of the game. The players were able to put Purdue under pressure. The team was able to score some points more than the winning Purdue in the first half but in the second half the game was all set for the Purdue Boilermakers who lived up to the expectation. The Siena College team had guard Edwin Ubiles adding to the team’s score of 18 points. Another player Ryan Rossiter, contributed by 13 rebounds. The major player for the game on the winning team’s side was center JaJuan Johnson. JaJuan Johnson added 23 points to the team’s score and also caught 15 rebounds to keep Purdue team ahead of the Siena College.

The Siena College team, on whom much hope was pinned, had come up at the beginning of the game with flying colors. The whole game was full of excitement as the margin always kept changing. The Siena College was able to put a lead before the halftime with the score board reading 32-29. In the second half, Purdue came up as a different team. They stormed the score margin to fifteen many a times. Though the Siena Saints fought back, they were unable to cover up the huge margin. The ultimate margin between the two teams remained three.
