Stanford University Loses To Connecticut

ALAMODOME, (Gaea Times.com)- Stanford University witnessed a defeat at the hands of University Of Connecticut in the women’s basketball match at the NCAA tournament. Maya Moore picked up 23 points on behalf of University of Connecticut as they picked up a steady win of 53-47 over Stanford University girls never giving them a chance to get the grasp of the game. University of Connecticut was trailing at one point in time with a score of 20-12 in favor of Stanford University. Maya Moore started off scoring baskets for her team which made University Of Connecticut come back in the game.
Coach Geno Auriemma was all in praises for his star player after the girls of Connecticut University clinched a win over Stanford University girls. Maya Moore scored 11 rebounds, which made the team take the lead in the match over Stanford University. Reportedly, for University Of Connecticut this was the seventh title which is the highest for any team after Tennessee, who has a record team of eighth.
Stanford University stood at a score of 36-2. For Connecticut it was a major comeback as they gave back their bitter loss at the hands of Stanford University, when the two teams confronted each other in the finals of NCAA in the year 2008. Coach Geno Auriemma was all in praises for his girls as he recorded his 77th win as a coach at the NCAA tournament. This is a record only after Tennessee coach Pat Summitt. As a matter of fact, the winning coach of the women basketball team equals the number of wins with the men basket ball coach Mike Krzyzewski, under whose able coaching the Duke Blue Devils won the Men’s title.
