NEW DELHI - India’s badminton star Sania Nehwal on Saturday exuded confidence of performing well in the upcoming Asian Badminton Championship-2010.
“I have been training really well and this year has been very good from the Malaysian Open till the All England. I played really well,” said Nehwal
“There is a little bit pressure being a top seed player. But, I hope I give my best,” she added.
National Badminton Coach and Nehwal’s personal mentor Pullela Gopichand attributed the present form of the team to the players’ dedication and the guidance rendered by the group of coaches.
“Thanks to the great effort which our group of coaches has put in, I think, we have had some excellent performances. We do hope that in such a prestigious event like the Asian Championship, we as a host would get even better results,” said Gopichand.
Prior to the Commonwealth Games in October, the Asian Badminton Championship-2010 will be the first major event in New Delhi.
The Asian Badminton Championship-2010 will be held at the Siri Fort Badminton Stadium between 12 and 18 April in New Delhi. (ANI)
