NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) Victor Ortiz turned out to be the winner in the fight in the undercard fight of the Amir Khan and Paulie Malignaggi. The fight took place on Saturday, at the Madison Square Gardens Theater. At the end of the fight, Victor Ortiz was not awarded a title, of course, seeing as it is, that it was only an undercard fight. However, the fight, and the subsequent win, did say volumes about the fighter, considering that he got win against a fighter far senior to him in both age and experience, and that he also delivered a rather impressive performance. He was pitted against Nate Campbell, 38, almost 15 years elder to him.
Victor Ortiz himself, however, was not to impressed by the performance he gave in the match against Nate Campbell. Although he admitted that his style has definitely improved from what it was even a few days back, he felt that he could have done way better in the ring. He, however, admitted that Nate Campbell was a league way above himself, admitting that he was a far more practiced and experienced fighter.
However, the observers had a different opinion to give. Many of the observers were of the opinion that Nate Campbell was not as quick as he used to be once upon a time. In fact, at times, he was actually left visibly troubled by the quick-as-a-fox moves of the younger opponent. It was noticeable that Victor Ortiz’s left hand moves and southpaw styles were the ones that left him particularly baffled, and it could bot be denied that he could not match up with the strength and the agility of the younger opponent.
