Haddin fined for showing dissent at umpire decision

BRIDGETOWN - Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin was fined 10 per cent of his match fee for breaching the Code of Conduct during his side’s seven-wicket defeat against England in the final of the World Twenty20 2010 at Kensington Oval here Sunday.
Haddin was charged with a Level 1 offence which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match”.
The right-hander pleaded guilty to the charge and as such, under the provisions of the code, the matter was determined by Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle without the need for a full hearing. The match referee imposed a fine equivalent to 10 per cent of the player’s match fee.
The charge was brought by on-field umpires Billy Doctrove and Aleem Dar as well as third umpire Billy Bowden and fourth official Rudi Koertzen.
Offences included in Level 1 of the Code of Conduct can range from an official reprimand up to 50 per cent of his or her match fee. The code applies both to men’s and women’s international cricket.
