Indy 500 Witnesses Bad Weather

INDIANAPOLIS (GaeaTimes.com)- The 94th Indy 500 (Indianapolis 500) witnessed bad weather which hampered the practice sessions at the Indy 500 Motor Speedway. Reportedly, the practice was delayed by an hour and all drivers were asked to clear the ground as the gates were closed 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled time on Tuesday.
The drivers had to wait for long hours as the race courses were all wet. It was 1 pm when the groundsmen called upon the drivers to begin their practice session. All went good until E.J. Viso went for a left quarter-spin in the first turn only to land up at the exit of the SAFER Barrier. The car went through heavy damage and was taken back to the garage. The safety team rushed to the spot and helped E. J Viso move out of the car and landed him on a stretcher. The driver was taken to the Methodist Hospital in an ambulance.
Dr. Geoffrey Billows who happens to be the director of Medical services for Indy 500 Motor Speedway told the media that the driver was awake and all in his senses as he was being taken to the hospital. The medical professionals are treating upon him as E.J Viso had complained of a severe back pain after the crash. Mario Moraes said that they are all done with the first phase and on Wednesday they shall improvise more on the same as the practice sessions resumes on Wednesday afternoon. He told that the weather has been one of the biggest challenge so far and if all goes well the Indy 500 final round shall witness a sunny weather. It was said that the Indy 500 Motor Speedway track shall also allow all public entry from 9 am in the morning to watch the practice sessions.
