KENTUCKY (GaeaTimes.com)- John Wall was relieved when it was announced that he was the number one draft pick in the NBA. However, the relief could not have been more intense when it was announced that he has been chosen by the Washington Wizards, although it did come as somewhat opposed to what the freshman points guard had been expecting. After it was announced that he is the number one pick for this season’s draft in the NBA, John Wall confided that he felt that he would be chosen by the New Jersey Nets. However, that did not turn out to be true, with the team getting the number three pick in the NBA draft. Finally, it was the Washington Wizards that won the lottery that gave them the chance to pick the number one draft pick.
Initially, it was not certain whether the Washington Wizards would be choosing John Wall or not. It was being expected that they would be choosing either John Wall, or Evan Turner, from the Ohio State University. Their final announcement no doubt came as a welcome relief to the points guard from Kentucky, who was admittedly facing quite a lot of tension, wanting to know which team he would be playing for in the next season.
John Wall himself was obviously elated at the choice of the Washington Wizards, although he did pay heed to the fact that they still had their choice of Evan Turner, and might change their mind about the pick. The General Manager of the Washington Wizards, Ernie Grunfield, commented that the team is extremely lucky to be able to secure John Wall as the NBA pick of the season.
