NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- As per the reports suggest, Irina Pavlova, a former business student of Stanford University was elected the President of the New Jersey Nets, on Thursday. Mikhail Prokhorov, the new owner of the company in New York made the announcement on Thursday, saying that the diplomat’s daughter will now be in charge of looking after every detail pertaining to ownership and also see to the construction of the new building of the NBA franchisee that he has planned to be built in New York.
It has been reported that Irina Pavlova has an extremely good head for business. After graduating from the Stanford University, she worked with the Prudential Investment Corporation and Google, where she was the first employee to be selected from Russia. Selecting her as the President is an effort of Mikhail Prokhorov to improve business ties between the countries of USA and Russia. The new office of the New Jersey Nets with Irina Pavlova at its head will open in the year 2012.
With the new franchisee soon opening in the area of Brooklyn, Irina Pavlova will not only be responsible for its development but will also have to attend some of the NBA matches. The lady may have grown up in Moscow, but has stayed in the States for the last ten years. She is also apparently fluent in all the three languages of English, Russian and Spanish. Therefore the job of coordination in the New Jersey Nets should not be a very difficult job for her, feels Mikhail Prokhorov who is also the first non-American to own a NBA franchisee.
