Dungey making most of surprise opportunity
One of the rising stars in motocross, Ryan Dungey, left his family and holed up in one-bedroom apartment for a chance to pursue his dream.
The move turned out to be the best decision he ever made. Dungey got his break when legendary rider Roger DeCoster gave him a chance at a factory ride after a difficult amateur career.
Dungey has validated the Rockstar Makita Suzuki manager’s decision, becoming the second rookie to ever win the Supercross season title when he did it last year at the age of 20.
Now, the Minnesota native is one of the favorites to knock of defending champion Chad Reed when the AMA Pro Motocross Championship kicks off its season at the Hangtown Classic in northern California this weekend.
