Helio Castroneves Shines At Indianapolis 500

INDIANAPOLIS (GaeaTimes.com)- Indy 500 (Indianapolis 500) witnessed the victory of Helio Castroneves as he raced away to the finish line thus earning a fourth pole rank at the automobile race. Helio Castroneves won the Indianapolis 500 automobile race as a defending champion from Team Penske with an average speed of 227.970 miles per hour in a total of four lap qualifying session.
It was Tim Cindric’s idea to send out Helio Castroneves at the first go. Team Penske President thought that it would a wise move to let the Brazilian drive away the qualifying laps before the others. Helio Castroneves finished four consecutive laps at 227.961 miles per hour, 228.213 miles per hour, 228.187 miles per hour and 227.521 miles per hour respectively.
The win ties Helio Castroneves with Rex Mays and A.J. Foyt. It was the fourth pole for Helio Castroneves and the 16th Indy 500 pole for Team Penske. The winner was elated after his fourth pole finish. When asked about it he told the media that there is nothing better than a day when everything works according to your plan. He underlined the fact that he was well aware of the strength and stamina of his fellow racers and thus he had planned accordingly. He wanted to “Deflate” them and make them hit the panic button. Helio Castroneves admitted that the contenders were all for a cut throat race. He mentioned Ed Carpenter who once reached 228. Helio Castroneves said that he simply replied upon the Team Penske strategy which says go out on the track and race to your best and then nothing can stop you. The driver said that he followed the strategy all the way from the start to the finish which made him the winner.
