LONDON - Formula One champion Jenson Button has warned McLaren team mate and ex-Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton that while their relationship will survive the heat of a title fight, he does not plan to ease up on Hamilton until the final lap of the season.
“I think our relationship can survive. It will as long as we do what we are doing now - being fair. We’re hard, as you would expect, but we’re fair. We know we are racing each other. We want to win and we want to beat each other. We will race until the flag drops,” the 30-year-old was quoted, as saying.
“But we both respect each other immensely and he is a great team-mate. He’s very fast and a great racer too. He’s a tough guy to beat, but it’s exciting for me, I’m really enjoying myself,” he added.
Button was speaking ahead of the 12 races that are left in the 2010-11 season, The Sun reports. (ANI)
