KANSAS CITY (GaeaTimes.com)- The country is waiting in anticipation to watch the football game between the Kansas City Wizards and Manchester United which took place at the New Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City yesterday evening. This time though India is not waiting to watch the likes of Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs kick the ball but will be glued to their television sets to cheer for their very own Sunil Chhetri, the footballer of Indian origin who currently plays for the Kansas City Wizards.
The reason which makes the game worth a watch for the Indians is the fact that Sunil Chhetri will be the second player from India to play against the English giants after his fellow Indian skipper Bhaichung Bhutia. Though the Kansas City match will be a pre-season friendly, Sunil Chhetri appeared very excited while speaking to the media before the start of the game, saying that it is an opportunity of a lifetime and he will always cherish it.
The game scheduled to go on air at 5 in the evening from the Kansas City Stadium will be available live for his fans back in India at 3:30 today. Going by the statements made by Sunil Chhetri to the American media, the game will see him in the best of forms. The Kansas City Wizards striker says that it was always his dream to play against his favorite Manchester United and in today’s game he will apply all the strategies that he has mastered over the years, some of which he has even picked up while watching the great Man U players!
