LAHORE - Pakistan chief cricket selector Mohsin Khan has said that the team’s strategy for the upcoming T20 and one-day international series against England would be chalked out after the ongoing Test series against the hosts.

Pakistan is scheduled to play two T20 internationals besides five one-day games against England starting September 7.

Mohsin said he would inspect every aspect of the game before picking up the players for the shorter versions of the game, but his focus would be on batting and fielding.

“As the chief selector I will assess every aspect behind the defeats before picking up the team.We selected the best team from the available players for the England series but unluckily our batting could not excel. However, our bowlers outclassed England,” The Dawn quoted Mohsin, as saying.

While the Pakistani bowling attack has exploited friendly conditions in England effectively, the inexperienced batting line up has failed miserably during the first two Tests.

Mohsin also expressed hope that batsmen would click in the third Test, starting at The Oval today (Wednesday, August 18), as experienced middle order batsman Mohammad Yousuf was also available to play.

The former Test opener, however, avoided making any comment on whether he was satisfied with the selection of the playing XI by the tour selection committee, headed by the team manager Yawar Saeed.

“I can’t comment on it since it is part of the team planning. Moreover, I can’t dictate the tour selection committee from here (Pakistan),” Mohsin said. (ANI)
