Majeed reveals you have to kiss Afridi’s a**e every day to manage him

LONDON - During his conversation with a News of The World (NOTW) team that was masquerading as a business conglomerate from the Middle East seeking to hire Pakistan’s cricketers for a tournament on lucrative terms, millionaire-cum match fixer Mazhar Majeed revealed that Pakistan one-day captain Shahid Afridi was one man that needed to be kept out because he was a difficult customer to please.

Revealing his modus operandi for his latest scam in cricket, involving Pakistani cricketers in the Podium restaurant of the plush Park Lane Hilton Hotel in London on August 16, Majeed said that while he had most of the Pakistan cricket team in his pocket, Afridi was difficult to get access to.

Afridi was not one of the players Majeed had in his pocket.

“I could have signed Afridi five years ago. All the other players I know, you know like brothers. When they’re in England I see them every day. I go to Pakistan to stay with them. We are going out for dinner tonight actually, Edgware Road.” But he (Afridi) is the kind of player who you have to kiss his a**e every day if you want to manage him. And, I am not that kind of person,” Majeed revealed.

According to a News of The World (NOTW) report, its reporter Mazher Mahmood said Majeed hinted for the first time that several of his players were already involved in match fixing

Describing the players as “cool”, he said: There’s more than two or three. Believe me. It’s already set up. That’s already there.”ahmood reveals that a second meeting took place at the Bombay Brasserie in London on August 18 over plates of curry.

He outlined how he believed the NOTW Twenty20 cricket tournament in the Middle East would work, while name- dropping Premier League footballers, Hollywood superstars and pop singers.

At the end of the meal, Majeed had a secret chat with the main negotiator in the back of the reporter’s car.
