LAS VEGAS (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems that the winner of nine world boxing championships, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is facing trouble in handling his life outside sports. Just a week after his controversial racial rant video, the American boxer was arrested yesterday on charges of domestic violence and theft. Floyd Mayweather’s former girlfriend and the mother of his three children, Josie Harris lodged a complain where she accused him of domestic violence and theft charge as well.

The Las Vegas Police spokesman officer Barbara Morgan said in her statement that Josie Harris alleged that Floyd Mayweather hit her and the police is waiting for his side of the story as well. Josie Harris in one of her interviews said that Floyd Mayweather awoke her by pulling her hair and throwing him on the ground in his living room. Josie Harris also added that the boxer began punching him on his head, dragged her on the floor and twisted her arm back in an attempt to try and break it. The police said that on Thursday Josie Harris made a police complaint and sought a Family Court protection order claiming that Floyd Mayweather assaulted her. Floyd Mayweather was released later on $3,000 bail.

Josie Harris made similar claim in 2005 and later withdrew it. However, Floyd Mayweather’s lawyer said that the boxer did not steal anything and denied all the charges of domestic violence. The lawyer, Richard Wright said that the player will co-operate with the authorities in the investigation. The media reports that Floyd Mayweather was arrested several times before on battery and assault allegations. Floyd Mayweather can face up-to five years in prison if he is found guilty. The police reported that Floyd Mayweather is scheduled to appear in the court on November 9, 2010
