Saaniya in lead, Sharmila trails by two shots in WPGTI golf

GURGAON - Sharmila Nicollet, the winner of all three events held so far this year on the Hero Honda Women’s Professional Golf Tour, was Wednesday two shots behind leader Saaniya Sharma on a day when the weather changed from bright sunshine to cloudy and windy.
In the fourth leg of the Tour, Saaniya shot one-over 73 at the Jack Nicklaus designed ITC Classic golf course, while Nalini Singh Siwach and Neha Tripathi returned cards of 74 each. Sharmila shot 75.
Sharmila started well and was level par till seventh hole, but she missed a short at par 4 eighth hole and again dropped 2 shots at par 5 ninth hole. She returned a score of 3 over while coming out and level par while coming in with days total of 75 (3 over).
The long hitting Pro from Chandigarh, Saaniya Sharma was also level par till fifth hole but dropped a shot each at 6th, 7th, 11th and 12th hole, which made her four-over at that stage. But she fought back with birdies at 14th, 15th and 18th hole to return a score of one over for the day.
Nalini Singh Siwach from Delhi who is known for her short game score 2 over for the day with a series of par and lone double bogey at par 4 seventh hole.
Preetinder Kaur (78) and Priya Puri (84) were behind the top four.
