KP seeking to revive cricket form with Nashua Dolphins in S. Africa

LONDON - England batsman Kevin Pietersen is doing everything he can to try and rediscover his magical form with the bat, and he hopes to regain it with a short stint with the Nashua Dolphins in South Africa.

Formerly known as KwaZulu Natal, this is the same team Pietersen began his professional career with, plying some indifferent off-spin and battering a few boundaries down the order - before becoming fed up with the lack of opportunity and moving to England instead.

Pietersen will be facing the Warriors’ attack, a side that has been left a little short-handed by international call-ups.

Johan Botha and Lonwabo Tsotsobe have both flown to Zimbabwe, leaving the evergreen Mkaya Ntini - still pinging them down at 33 - to anchor an otherwise inexperienced attack.

“I am 30 years old now,” he said this week. “I have probably got to the top of the fence and am on the way down now. It’s encouraging and nice if you can help someone else,” KP was quoted, as saying.

With the exception of his barnstorming performances at the World Twenty20 in May - where he won the player of the tournament award - his returns have been modest ever since.

But he has two four-day games for the Dolphins to kick-start a revival ahead of England’s flight to Perth. (ANI)
