Pak team management too laid back to send England tour report to PCB on time

LAHORE - Although one month has passed since Pakistan’s tour of England ended, the national team management has not submitted its reports on the contentious series, during which the spot-fixing scandal broke out, rocking the entire cricket world.
A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official revealed that the board was yet to receive any tour report from former manager Yawar Saeed or coach Waqar Younis, the Daily Times reported.
“Till now we have not received any report from manager or coach and so far they have also not given us any plausible reason or explanation for the delay in doing this,” said the official.
Abdul Raquib, a former manager of the national team, who had gone to New Zealand and Australia last winter, expressed his surprise over the fact that the manager and coach had not submitted their reports till now.
“Normally the manager is supposed to give his report within one week after returning home, whereas the England tour ended on September 22,” he pointed out.
Raquib noted that following the spot-fixing scandal engulfing Pakistan cricket, the manager’s report would be of utmost importance and significance.
“The board should know why the reports have not been submitted as yet,” he added.
Meanwhile, the PCB has also come under fire on this issue from the National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports, which noted at its hearing this month that it was strange that the manager had not submitted the report so far on such an important and controversial tour.
While Yawar Saeed had stepped down from team manager’s position after the tour, Waqar still remains the team coach.
When contacted, Yawar declined to comment on whether he had given the report. “I have retired from cricket and now you should ask the board,” he maintained. (ANI)
