LONDON - England captain Andrew Strauss has signed a two-year contract extension with Middlesex.
“Naturally, we are delighted that Andrew has chosen to remain at Middlesex,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted county’s Cricket Director Angus Fraser, as saying.
“We expect Andrew’s involvement with Middlesex over the next couple of years to be minimal-he has bigger fish to fry with England-but when he is available to play for us he is a great person to have around.”
“His presence is extremely reassuring and he sets a superb example to all our young cricketers,” he added.
The 33-year-old had made his first appearance for Middlesex in 1997.
He was appointed captain of Middlesex in 2002, following Fraser’s retirement, and retained the post until the end of the 2004 season. (ANI)
