All about McGrath, Leonardi’s ’simple and intimate’ wedding ceremony

MELBOURNE - Cricket legend Glenn McGrath went to extraordinary lengths to keep prying eyes away from his wedding to Sara Leonardi.
Newly married McGrath, whose first wife Jane succumbed to breast cancer in 2008, emerged from his home in Cronulla and informed the media that the couple is ‘very happy’.
“Obviously Sarah and I got married last night. We are very happy. It was a small ceremony with family - just how we wanted it,” the Daily Telegraph quoted McGrath as saying.
Sources said the pair bought wedding bands last week and they went to extraordinary lengths to keep the ceremony private, covering the windows of their waterfront home in sheets of thick plastic.
However, gaps in the sheeting revealed the happy couple exchanging vows in front of the bride and groom’s parents, the two children and Jane McGrath’s brother and his wife.
After the brief ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed an intimate reception overlooking the water.’
McGrath’s manager Warren Craig informed the ceremony was ’simple and intimate’.
“It all went fantastically well. They are feeling great and happy to be married,” said Craig.
McGrath’s two children to his late wife Jane hugged their dad and new stepmother, as the couple said “I do” at 3pm.
The bride carried a bouquet of the same roses, a tribute to Jane, who succumbed to cancer in 2008. (ANI)
