LONDON - A race ace, who has been named Britiain’s Young Driver of the Year, faces a ban for dangerous driving after he was allegedly caught doing 92mph in a 50mph zone.
Dubbed ‘the next Lewis Hamilton’, F3 Euro Series driver Alexander Sims was apparently seen tearing along a stretch of motorway in a high performance Volkswagen Golf, the Daily Mail reports.
The 22-year-old motor sports star will appear in court next month after an unmarked police car followed his speeding vehicle between the M5 and M42 in Worcestershire at about 11 p.m. on April 15.
Sims is believed to have been arrested at the scene and was later charged with one count of speeding and a separate count of dangerous driving.
Sims has denied the charges filed against him, and is being represented in court by celebrity lawyer Nick Freeman.
Freeman is more commonly known as ‘Mr Loophole’ for his ability to win acquittals on high profile driving cases. (ANI)
