Everton manager Moyes says Beckham ‘just needs to call’ for him to be hired

LONDON - Everton manager David Moyes has said that he would like to sign David Beckham on a short-term loan from Los Angeles Galaxy during the midwinter transfer window.
Beckham, who is a close friend of Everton captain Phil Neville, has spent the last two Major League Soccer off-seasons (between January and March) on loan at Milan.
“If David wanted to come back to the Premier League he would only need to phone me or Phil and we would be here for him. He knows how to get hold of Phil and he knows how to get hold of me,” the Telegraph quoted Moyes, as saying.
“We would have to look into it financially, but if he came and said to me I would like to come and play I would have to go to the chairman and ask if we could do it, if we think we can make it work by selling enough shirts,” he added.
The 35-year-old is also a former teammate of Moyes after playing with the Scot while on loan at Preston in 1995.
“I worked with him at Preston. We played in the same team and I made him look good. I made his bad crosses OK. I think I scored from one of his corners by making his bad passes look good,” Moyes said. (ANI)
