LONDON - Former Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has said that he is impressed by next year’s McLaren Formula One car.
The 2008 world champ gave his verdict after jumping into the “cockpit” of the new MP4-26 for a virtual test on the Woking team’s simulator, The Sun reports.
He had several tweaks to try out, including a driver-controlled moveable rear wing that can increase or increase drag and the return of the kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) that provides an instant power boost.
Hamilton, fourth in this year’s championship, told his followers on Twitter: “Lots of neat ideas and improvements. First time driving the new car and I was happy. KERS and rear wing is trick but felt right at home with it.”
Teammate Jenson Button also said the KERS comeback could give McLaren an edge over their rivals in 2011. (ANI)
