Tendulkar becomes first batsman to score 50 Test centuries

CENTURION - Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday created history by becoming the first batsman to score 50 centuries in the Test cricket history. endulkar completed his ton in 197 balls on the fourth day of the first Test against South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
The master blaster took a single off Dale Steyn to achieve the historic milestone.
He has collective 1,532 runs in thirteen Tests this year at an amazing average of over 85 runs per innings.
In 2010, Tendulkar has scored seven centuries and five fifties with one more match to play against South Africa, starting on December 26.
His personal score tally is made up of 11 hundreds against Australia, nine against Sri Lanka, seven against England, six against South Africa, five against Bangladesh, four against New Zealand, three each against West Indies and Zimbabwe and two against Pakistan.
Tendulkar has till now scored over 14,500 runs and 59 fifties along with the half-century of centuries.
With one more match of the three-Test series in South Africa scheduled for this year, Tendulkar has opportunity to surpass Mohammad Yousuf’s record of 1,768 runs in 2006. (ANI)
