MELBOURNE - Australian captain Ricky Ponting thinks that his team will feel “bulletproof” if the first-day crowd for the Boxing Day Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground reaches an expected record of over 90,000.

“When you walk out on to the field on Boxing Day morning for the anthems and the ground is full, it is an amazing place. You almost feel like you are bulletproof, to tell the truth, if you are an Australian,” the Daily Express quoted Ponting, as saying.

“There will probably be 40-50,000 Barmy Army fans here again booing me with every chance they get, but this is an amazing place to play sport.”

“And with this contest the way it is, I am sure there will be a lot of energy and electricity flowing around on Sunday morning,” he added.

Victory in the fourth Test will help Australia’s bid to regain the urn.

The five-match series is currently tied at 1-1, but Ponting’s team has the momentum following their 267 run win in the third Test at Perth’s WACA Ground. (ANI)
