Beckhams not moving to Manhattan

NEW YORK - Soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria are not moving to Manhattan, it has emerged.

The couple’s publicists said that they have no plans to become New Yorkers anytime soon.

The rumour reportedly started with England’s Now magazine, which said that while the superstar athlete had to be in California as a member of the L.A. Galaxy, Victoria wanted to switch coasts.

“My work is so important to me and LA just isn’t a real fashion city,” she allegedly told a friend, according to Hollyscoop.com, which picked up the story.

The article’s source further claimed that, while the family wouldn’t sell their West Coast digs, the singer-turned-style maven thought it “made sense for her to be based in fashion capital New York. It’s closer to London and Europe for her business meetings.”

But the rumor is nonsense.

“There is no truth to the story,” the New York Daily News quoted reps for both David and Victoria as saying. (ANI)
