LONDON - Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that he would try to bring midfielder David Beckham to White Hart Lane during this month’s transfer window.

“We’ll contact the Los Angeles Galaxy to see if they will let him go out on loan Turn to and if David is up for a three-month deal then we will definitely be interested,” the Sun quoted Redknapp, as saying.

“I’m sure he can still do a great job at the top level, otherwise I wouldn’t bother. He would be a fantastic player to have here - and he wouldn’t be coming just to sell some shirts,” he added.

Redknapp also believes that the 35-year-old could be the man who can help him win the Premier League title.

“He’s a proper spot-on professional who would be a fantastic influence on everyone at the club,” the Tottenham Hotspur manager said.

“I’m not in a position where I need to get anyone in the transfer window. But I read Theo Walcott saying how he set a real example for him when he was training at Arsenal last year and you need people like that around your club,” he added.

Beckham, who had spent the last two winters on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy at AC Milan, had earlier confirmed that his move to the Italian club would not happen again.

“I won’t be going back to AC Milan this time because is not possible to go onto the roster for such a short length of time,” the 35-year-old had said.

“But I will be going back somewhere as I want to keep myself fit and keep myself in with a chance of getting called up for England again. To do that, I have to be somewhere so fingers crossed I can sort something out,” he added. (ANI)
