Ancelotti to get money required to keep Chelsea in title race
By ANITuesday, January 4, 2011
LONDON - Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich is ready to provide the cash coach Carlo Ancelotti needs to keep the club in the title race, but not before he receives a full half-term report from his manager.
Abramovich is prepared to back Ancelotti by buying a central defender - Bolton’s Gary Cahill is a potential target - and a right back this month, the Daily Express reports.
But he will talk to Ancelotti about the well being of a squad that has squandered a five-point lead in the Premier League to trail Manchester United by six points.
Reports of a flare-up between Didier Drogba and John Terry were played down yesterday, but it is clear that there are tensions in the camp.
Chelsea will travel to play bottom club Wolves tomorrow for a game that is vital to halting the slide.
By the time they take to the Molineux pitch they could be nine points adrift of United, who play Stoke tonight. (ANI)
