Coimbatore is gearing up for the World Cup

COIMBATORE - Cricket fans in Coimbatore are looking forward to the World Cup matches to be played in the city.
Their World cup excitement was palpable when they took part, in a parade with the trophy on Monday.
Naveen , a cricket fan, said , “We are here today for the glorious cup for cricket, which is made out of gold and silver. opefully and definitely we are going to get this back. The boys are good and I hope to see it in our trophy cabinet soon. India will win,”
D. Lakshmi Narayana Swamy, President of the Coimbatore Cricket Association, was excited to see the trophy.
” It is really exciting that they could bring this trophy to Coimbatore, so that the youth of the Coimbatore can have a feel of a World Cup. I mean, it sort of builds up the momentum to the world cup. India is playing its first match in Bangladesh, I think it is a really nice thing and really happy that they brought up in Coimbatore,” Swamy said.
The trophy was put on display for public viewing at different spots in the city.
The ICC World Cup trophy is being taken to various cities in the country to generate excitement for the event.
The mega sporting will have 49 matches, being played in India , Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. (ANI)
