DHAKA - England batsman Ian Bell has said that he wants to erase the bad memories of his previous World Cup appearance in the same way as he saw off his Ashes nightmare.

Bell had a disastrous 2007 World Cup in the West Indies, where he scored just one 50 in eight innings. It followed the 5-0 whitewash Ashes tour, in which he had averaged 33.

However, having corrected one mistake with 329 runs at an average of 65 in the recent 3-1 Ashes triumph, Bell is keen to do the same in the upcoming World Cup.

“I played in the World Cup last time and it didn’t go to plan. It was a little bit like going and playing in Australia and losing 5-0,” the Sun quoted Bell, as saying.

“It was nice to go back and put that right. This is another opportunity for the guys who played in the last World Cup to do the same,” he added. (ANI)
