Sangakkara warns team not to fall prey to ‘biggest fear of losing at home’

DHAKA - Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara has urged his teammates to not fall prey to the fear of defeat in front of the home crowds when their World Cup campaign gets under way on Sunday.
“The biggest fear at home is losing. The worst thing is that you are nervous and afraid to go out and do what you know you can do, so it’s the biggest thing we have to be careful of,” Stuff.co.nz quoted Sangakkara, as saying.
“If you play as well as you know how to play, you obviously make it that much harder for the opposition to beat you,” he added.
The 33-year-old insisted that if his men play to their true potential, the team would win every game of the tournament.
“Sometimes you have been caught up in things like, you can’t chase under lights. But we now feel that whatever comes out we should give it the best,” Sangakkara said.
