AHMEDABAD - Australian captain Ricky Ponting has warned his team that they need to perform better if they want to make it to the final of the 2011 World Cup for a fourth consecutive time.

Addressing mediapersons after Australia’s 91-run victory over Zimbabwe on Monday evening, Ponting said: “We need to play better. We need to have our games and our own game-plans sorted out for better spin attacks.”

“As the tournament goes on, we’re going to need to be on top of our games and we’re probably not quite there just yet. But I think the more we play and the more we become accustomed to these conditions then the better we’ll be,” he added.

Australia scored 262 for the loss of six wickets in their 50 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe folded up for 171 in the 47th over. Australian left arm fast bowler Mitchell Johnson claimed four wickets in the match.hane Watson was declared Man of the Match for his match winning 79 runs. (ANI)
