Becks thanks Tottenham pals with East End feast of pie and mash

LONDON - Former England great David Beckham said farewell to his Tottenham pals by buying them an East End feast of pie and mash.
The midfielder, 35, who has been training with Spurs for the last six weeks, wanted to say thanks before jetting back to Los Angeles.
But while fellow Cockney and coach Harry Redknapp loved the gesture, some of the club’s foreign players were left confused by the grub.
The Daily Star quoted Redknapp , 63, as saying: “It’s only us Cockneys that know. I had three actually, I nicked an extra pie.
“I was brought up on it in the East End, it was fantastic. He had them delivered but I think some of the foreign lads were not too sure what to make of it.”
Becks was desperate to play for Spurs, the team his beloved late grandad supported all his life.
But a loan deal fell through, preventing the LA Galaxy star from making a Premier League return. (ANI)
