RR Vs. RCB: RCB Defeats RR

JAIPUR, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a stunning victory against the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday at the Sawai Man Singh stadium. With the victory, the Vijay Mallya owned team took a step forward in the third season of the Indian Premier League as they moved in at the second position in the points table. Yesterday’s RR Vs. RCB match turned out to be a huge treat for all fans of the Bangalore based team as they defeated their opponents in a convincingly manner by five wickets, with as many as 32 balls remaining.

In the RR Vs. RCB match, the toss was won by Shane Warne’s team and they decided to bat first. However, the decision did not prove to be a wise one as the Rajasthan Royals struggled from almost the very beginning and could not do much owning to the impressive performance displayed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers which included Dale Steyn, Pankaj Singh, among others. At the end of their innings, the home team was successful in putting up a modest total of 160 in the scoreboard during the first half of the game.

However, when the Royal Challengers Bangalore started batting in the RR Vs. RCB match, they had to suffer very early setbacks as Manish Pandey and Jacques Kallis were dismissed quite early in the game. Then came the scintillating performance by Kevin Pietersen who scored a spectacular 62 of just 29 balls, to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore to the much anticipated victory. Kevin Pietersen singlehandedly changed the pace of the game as he went on to deliver ten fours and two sixes to ensure his team’s win.
