Hightap wins Dogwood Stakes over Luster

Hightap wins Churchill feature
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hightap turned back favored Luster to win Saturday’s $111,500 Dogwood Stakes feature race for 3-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs.
Ridden by jockey Shaun Bridgmohan, Hightap ran down Luster in mid-stretch and drew away to a 3 1/4-length win.
Hightap paid $14, $4.80 and $4. Luster, the odds-on 9-10 favorite, returned $2.40 and $2.20 with Perfect for You paying $5.40 to show.
Trained by Steve Asmussen, Hightap is a Kentucky-bred daughter of Tapit. She covered the mile over a fast track in 1:35.78.
The victory in the field of nine was worth $66,365 and increased Hightap’s earnings to $126,365.
