Bruins F Krejci gets insurance before surgery
BOSTON — Boston Bruins forward David Krejci got a contract extension just days before he’s schedule to have surgery on a torn labrum in his hip.
Krejci signed Tuesday for a three years and more than $11 million. On Thursday, the 23-year-old Czech will have surgery that will keep him out for four to six months.
Krejci said he hopes to be back for the start of the regular season, but he could miss the first month.
