2 Confederations Cup refs pull out with injuries

JOHANNESBURG — Two of the 10 Confederations Cup referees will be replaced after they were injured during fitness tests.

Carlos Batres of Guatemala strained a calf muscle and Carlos Amarilla of Paraguay tore a hamstring during the speed and endurance tests held in Johannesburg.

Tournament organizer FIFA said Friday that their replacements would be selected from the list of candidates for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
