Kentucky horse farm to disperse 200 horses
LEXINGTON, Ky. — A major Kentucky thoroughbred farm that is home to the great stallion Storm Cat is selling nearly its entire stock of about 200 horses.
Overbrook Farm made the announcement Tuesday from Keeneland, the Lexington auction house that will organize the dispersal beginning at its September yearling sale.
Overbrook owner Bill Young Jr. explained he simply didn’t have the same passion for the sport as his father, the late William T. Young. Young said Overbrook will continue operating as a small racing stable led by his son, Chris.
Storm Cat still lives on the farm. He was one of the leading sires in history before his retirement just over a year ago.
