Bruins’ Julien named NHL coach of year after leading Boston to East’s best record

Bruins coach Julien voted as NHL’s coach of year
LAS VEGAS — Claude Julien of the Boston Bruins has been chosen as the NHL’s coach of the year, earning 35 first-place votes from the NHL Broadcasters’ Association.
Julien won the award Thursday night after guiding the Bruins to the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Boston (53-39-10) finished with the league’s second-best offense with 275 goals after ranking 25th in the 2007-08 season.
