Panesaar, Anderson strikes off Punter’s Dream

PanesaarResilient half an hour defense by Anderson and Panesaar helps England to draw the Cardiff Test, which surely shattered Australia’s dream to bag the first Ashes clash. England finished off with 252/9.

The day surely made Ponting chew his fingernails for not having a bowler who can match even the class of Jason Gillespie. Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne were the pillars of the mighty Aussie squad which once ruled the world. Compared to that who are these people wearing the baggie green? Can the likes of Peter Siddle and North justify themselves.

The saying came true “All’s well that ends well”. Australian bowlers started the day well by putting England in 90/5 within the first hour of the day. But it was a valiant effort by Paul Collingwood who played a magestic 74. Australians saw a glimmer of hope when Collingwood got out, when there was still 11 overs left for the day to close. But a tremendous determination showed by the “tip of the tail” Panesaar and Anderson, launched England to a draw.

Though the Aussies promise to comeback heavily in the second test, but the resilience showed by England would surely boost up their confidence.
